Olympics Communicate via VoIP
Olympic committees are taking full advantage of VoIP solutions from supporting networks with software and hardware networks to converging internet, TV, and mobile phone for viewers of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
The Summer Games being held in Beijing, People's Republic of China in just 2 days on August 8, 2008 is offering viewers an internet television solution provided by CCTV the exclusive television and web provider for 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Additionally a sophisticated IP telephone network will be supporting media at the 2009 Special Olympics. According to John Crosby, 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games Chief Technology Officer "This is the first time a voice over IP System has ever been used in a Special Olympics World Games."
VoIP solutions are prepped for the 2010 Olympics too. As the official converged network equipment supplier for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Nortel Networks© is building the first all-IP converged network for Olympic Games.
