Cagey Consumer - Includes tons of useful consumer information. Of particular interest is a section on telecom carriers, MLM schemes and FCC taxes.

CalTel - The California Association of Competitive Telecommunications Companies is a non-profit trade association working to advance the interests of fair and open competition and customer-focused service in California telecommunications.

Citizens Utility Board (Illinois) - A voice for residential and small-business utility ratepayers. CUB is a nonpartisan, nonprofit statewide organization funded by Illinois consumers and a grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Trust. Though created by the state, CUB receives no state tax dollars.

Citizens' Utility Board (Wisconsin) - Wisconsin's utility watchdog. Working to pass legislation in Wisconsin which will increase competition in the local telephone industry and establish penalties for service quality problems.

Idaho Public Utilities Commission - Protecting consumers in the state of Idaho.

The Maryland People's Counsel - A state agency that represents residential consumers of telephone and energy services.

Michigan Citizen Action (MCA) - The largest independent membership-based public-watchdog group in the state.

New Networks Institute - An excellent site, devoted to exposing overcharges and abuses by Regional Bell Operating Companies.

Office of Public Utility Counsel - To ensure that Texas consumers are effectively and efficiently served by high-quality professionals and businesses by setting clear standards, maintaining compliance, and seeking market-based standards.

Consumer's Voice - A consumer advocacy group that reports on telecom competition, or lack thereof. Nice news section, and information on how to contact regulators.

MIACT - Michigan Alliance for Competitive Telecommunications. A group dedicated to enacting legislation to foster local phone competition in the state of Michigan.

National Phone Check - Carries a variety of info on telecom security, including how to secure your lines against taps and eavesdropping.

SaveCompetition.com - Focuses on public policy issues facing CLECs.

Voices For Choices - Consumer interest site devoted to attacking the Bell monopolies.
