Aptela: Amateur Billing I have been using Aptela for years. I signed the previous company i was working for, to Aptela and I started up my company years ago and sticked with them. They are good at some points. But there are parts can make you frustrated.Usually no problem with connection but some connections is not clear. It happens daily basis. I use Polycom HD voice model phone which has superb sound quality. Another corcern is billing issue. Recently our credit card has been comprimed and we had to cancel the card. They tried to take money on 2nd and today is 23rd they have disconnected the service. No phone calls just email asking for us to fax credit authorization form. not even web based area that you can update your billing information nor add up back up payment option nor you can with credit card information. I wouldn't rely my business service with amature billing setup.

The Good:

We had easy start-up, patient and helpful advice, training, and transition assistance, and trouble-free phone service ever since. We are very satisfied thus far. Extra benefit: Going with VOIP allowed us to keep a valuable business number (by porting) that we could not port from landline to landline (old location to new).

The Bad:

Simply adapting to the differences between our old physical PBX functions and the Aptela system was a bit of a learning curve, but not a deterrent. Paying by extension makes it a little costly to have a few "extra" phones in rarely used offices, lunchroom or conference room.

We have no regrets about either the general decision to switch to VoIP or our choice of Aptela Our two-attorney law firm was relocating after a quarter-century in one place. We were not sure we wanted to bring our original PBX box with us for the long term, so we began to assess all our phone choices. For no particular reason, I started out with extreme reluctance to consider VoIP, probably due to years of passing chatter about such issues as dropped calls, etc. and overall skepticism about relying on the Internet for important client calls. Upon learning we could not keep our existing main phone number if we stayed with our landline (due to the location of the new office), we began to weight the possibility of VoIP, if only to be able to port our old number. Well-informed friends also told me to give VoIP a fair chance because technology and faster Internet speeds might have made my apprehension outdated. My further study made me realize that VoIP might not merely be an acceptable alternative; it might bring some advantages. Not one to make long-term technology decisions (or spending decisions) lightly, I did my homework. Reading as many reviews as I could find about all the various VoIP/virtual PBX providers, I found a confusing mix of raves and rants for virtually every company. (I soon confirmed that moving on trying to find the company with no negative reviews was futile, and that, probably, they did not reflect a consensus; I also noted that many complaints had to do with high-call-volume users, and our small law firm has light to moderate phone traffic.)To make a long story a little shorter, after a lot of comparing, we tentatively settled on Aptela, and confirmed our choice after sales consultant Omid patiently answered our endless questions and addressed all our concerns (including frank discussion about the handful of negative comments that seem to appear on every provider's review page). We have been very happy with the training, transition, and our trouble-free first ten weeks using Aptela. No dropped calls or call quality concerns at all. When we speak to each other in-house over the phone, but can simultaneously hear the colleague's voice faintly from down the hall, we recognize that the "live" and phone voices can be slightly out of sync at times. However, my concern about whether that might hinder phone conversations has not proven to be an issue at all. We have noticed no appreciable lag in our phone calls. To have the best chance of our switch to Aptela working out well, we verified adequate bandwidth by opting for cable internet over DSL. (Fiber optic was not available at the new location.) We bought preconfigured Polycom phones from Aptela, which seems to have been a great choice. Combining newly installed network wiring, a new router/hub/firewall and all-new phones with new VoIP, we were braced for the worst even while hoping for the best. To our pleasant surprise, everything worked well from the start. We are very pleased with the call quality (particularly since we paid a bit more for the HD handset option)-- much better than our land lines. Relearning how to transfer calls within the office took a little focus (can't just put a caller on hold and tell someone else to pick up). We miss being able to see who else is on the phone by glancing at the phone itself, but get that functionality on the Aptela dashboard. We love being able to send calls to any phone, and to use follow-me settings to receive calls anywhere-- but we have not actually used those appealing features much so far. During pre-move initial training, Aptela helped me record our first voice prompts (we did not opt for professional recording)-- remotely, over my cell phone. I was certain the recording would be poor quality and would have to be redone later, but was amazed at the clarity of that recording. (We kept it.)Aptela's assistance with training, porting our old number, and fielding our questions was impeccable. We have not had to open any trouble tickets, so I cannot comment about the tech support. Although I am not wild about having to place a support call and then wait for a reply, I believe that will prove more useful in the long run than getting an immediate but less helpful answer from an offshore call center. (I understand Aptela's support team is in at their main office-- which happens to be right in my backyard.)We have no regrets about either the general decision to switch to VoIP or our choice of Aptela.

aptela customer for 5 years Been a customer of aptela for 5 years now. As for hosted business PBX solutions they where one of the first vendors in this market space. For the first year there was a hiccup from time to time but but never anything resulting in a total outage that lasted more than the time it took to reboot a server. In the past 3 years I cannot remember any specific issue that was there fault. We had some fiber cut that resulted in our office having outage but that was a cogent issue. We just rerouted the calls to our cells through Aptela's easy to use dashboard which does work on Android. Also, adding and removing lines takes no time at all. Understanding the technology is key. I recommend anyone that is going to use a hosted PBX solution for your business to analyze there broadband needs prior to implementing any internet based phone solution. Bandwidth is key and if you have lots of PCs and Phones on the same network you could at any time saturate the network causing packet loss which will result in poor call quality. This is your responsibility not the vendors. Honestly we have had more issues with our ISPs than Aptela. I would recommend as a MUST to anyone that is on the go and needs to stay connected. Being able to have multiple phones in two locations that ring at the same time along with the find me options is truly a blessing if you travel. Knowing immediately if you missed a call or have voicemail because of the email notification features is amazing.

Aptela Review: With Aptela, through thick and thin Flexibility in that there is more than one way to use the service, VOIP phones are not required so if you are on a budget.....When we started with Aptela they were going through some growing pains, that was six years ago. We stuck with them becuase we couldn't find another provider who could give us what Aptela was giving us. After about 6 months of 95% satisfaction I can honestly say we have been 99.9% satisfied with the service (always room for improvement). We are a virual firm and when we switched to Aptela it made it that much easier to be virtual. No more pagers! They have matured as the industry has matured, they have just been at it longer so are more mature!

aptela review: great customer service We've been with Aptela for about 6 months. Lots of features and flexibility - but customer service has been the strongest advantage. I submitted a trouble ticket and got a call back 5 minutes later with a solution to the problem.

More reliable, better customer service, better technical support, proactive communications, easier to configure. Greetings can be recorded using text to voice - makes it easy to play around with options. I have 3 extensions, and we are mostly virtual. Ability to easily forward or transfer calls to a mobile phone is awesome.

The Bad:

Aptela was by far the easiest phone service I've ever setup Aptela was by far the easiest phone service I've ever setup. I have heard negative things about VOIP in the past and was skeptical to say the least. I didn't want to spend the money and have a complete phone network installed in our new office buildout. I wanted cheap so I knew my only option was just go IP. I received the phones in just 1 business day and had all the extensions up in a few minutes and the entire office running inside of an hour. Shortly thereafter, a training rep was on a conference call with my staff to help squelch any confusion about how to handle the simple things; transferring, paging, etc... Normally a headache, It was refreshing to be done setting up my phone system almost as fast as I began. Getting Back to work was never so easy. As far as business phone service goes, these guys are really on their game.

This Aptela system is simply awesome I was really reluctant to move to VOIP for my Company, but I investigated and asked lots of questions and talked with my regular service phone guru. I finally decided the investment was small and the returns would be huge in both finance and flexibility and I am thrilled. There are few things that I think you can buy and really feel like you have gotten great value. This is one of them for me. I honestly don't know how phone service could be better than this. This Aptela system is simply awesome.....and the quality is actually better than our old wired system.

Aptela Review: Last but not least is that the price is very resonable. We will definitely refer other's to Aptela. We have been customers since December 2010. The Porting and Set Up were a breeze. The system is easy to use, the call quality and reliability is very good. When we have had to contact customer service the support is great. The Ownerloves the ability to flip calls from the desk phone to cell phones. (Follow Me function) and the ability to listen to his voice messages from the computer instead of the handset.Last but not least is that the price is very resonable. Aptela is the way... I've been with the company for 5 years and counting.I've deployed their service and others many times.I've deployed other service providers too.In the end, some have switched to Aptela. You gotta know what you're doing though. VoIP as a technology must be done right. Bandwidth calculations, proper QOS/firewall setup. If you do the infrastructure and calculations right, VoIP will be right.I've used others and their admin interface is not as clean, intuitive and solid as Aptela's. Their offereings were not cost effective either. All in all, Aptela gives you a solid open product that works.Listen, I can say their are providers that make no provisions for when or if their service go offline. Aptela does, it's called Call Continuity. You gotta be willing to learn and work with VoIP as a technology first and a good product offereing 2nd. That's why Aptela is good. The bad I see comes from improper firewalls and QoS and poor bandwidth, stuff like that is not Aptela's fault.I run my IT company on it. I live it.

Aptela Voip Provider User Review We actually switched from a lower-priced company whose NOC was geographically closer. The Aptela web UI and additional features made the deal. We gained better control of our pricing and each user could handle their own settings.Aptela's porting and set up was very smooth. We had our Polycoms already and their configuration process made the process a breeze...and this is coming from a reviewer who's worked in the VoIP industry. Our management was hoping that the call quality (jitters) would also be allievated by switching but we found that it's our shoddy T1 ISP which is now being replaced. In fact our company's software product is ideal for integration with the Aptela platform at several points. I'm thinking CRM click-to-call and contact-favorite-to-phone-directory functionality. Hmmm....I'll have to give them a buzz.I definitely recommend Aptela!

THE BEST VOIP CO OUT THERE We are an inurance agency. We signed up with Brandon Brennan when he called us because of his promise of good support, great pricing and hardware. From day 1 he has followed through. He goes above and beyond every time we call. He is the first "sales guy" that doesn't pawn us off on tech support he actually takes the time to walk us through getting our problem corrected. I highly recommend Brandon and Aptela. They are amazing!

The Good:

Solid company, the phones work, my sales rep is still there! (how often can you say that in the "new" tech world)

The Bad:

Platform needs a little updating to suite my call center needs. I can't see "parked" calls in our queue from the phone (you have to look at an app on your monitor to accomplish). My rep says they are coming with a new platform soon, we'll see if it addresses that issue, as some of the old voip systems we used were able to accomplish this.

Aptela Rating I have used 4 companies to provide voip service over the past 6 years. Aptela has been the most reliable one to date. All the others have sucked with regards to reliability and CS. Granted this was 4-6 years ago and the roll out in technology was fairly new to most companies. As the owner of a small-medium size delivery business that is open 24 hours a day, we count on our phones bein "up" all the time. They have done a decent job accomplishing, with only a few short outages over the past 3 years. Other companies that we had dealt with would have outages for hours with no ability to get in touch with CS when this would occur. Customer service is good (they answer their phones...not all do you know!) I wish some things were easier, such as assigning new people to a phone or adding different line appearances, which require a cs call, though they are happy to help. I would and have refered them to others.

Call quality, reliability, FEATURES, price competitive, use of low cost Polycom phones with autodeployment behind standard DHCP, best multi-site or remote sales office integration available.

The Bad:

Potential feature set is so robust it can be a bit overwhelming at first and because of this some people don't take advantage of everything that is there.

Long history here folks... I am an IT integrator and have been using Aptela for 4 years now both internally and for many clients. I have evaluated all the service offerings available and as a business VOIP platform they stand head and shoulders above the rest. They are price competitive but the real value is from the feature set they deliver. Businesses are able to use these features to change business processes and flows, resulting in increased productivity per employee and most importantly more customer responsiveness. I have clients who have saved 5x the cost of the entire phone bill in productivity increases while still saving a bit of money versus old style copper lines. The call quality and reliability is good, the customer service and support is better than the Bell companies, and the flexibility of deployment across geographic regions using consumer grade DSL or cable modems is something that many VOIP providers simply cannot do. You won't find a better provider out there. I have looked! - Mike B.

Service and Quality Review I have been an Aptela Customer for several years now and I am very satisfied with the service. Aptela offers a lot of value for the cost and the functional flexibility and variety have made a big difference in our business being able to become more virtual and to project a professional image. As a small business owner, I don't have a lot of time to deal with infrastructure issues so having a reliable phone service that could get up and running quickly and then remain reliable is critical to our success. Of course, nothing is perfect but I have found the people at Aptela to be very responsive to fix problems and also make suggestions and educate me on how to utilize my services better. I have recommended Aptela to a number of other business owners and will continue to do so.

Perfect Solution for My Law Office Aptela offers a great solution for a law office like mine. I've recommended Aptela to a bunch of my buddies. When I first got service from them, I had no idea about all of the features I could take advantage of. My favorite feature is the ability to flip calls from my handset to my mobile phone and vice versa. People out there are always talking about support for all of these VoIP vendors. My experience is that you get better support than you'd ever see from the "big guys" and with Aptela, they provide a ton of information online as well so most of the time I can just look something up if I need to make a change. The more I use it, the more I like it. Highly recommend it for any business.

Aptela the real deal Our new business was looking for a VOIP provider and we remembered seeing all the adds for Vongage and decided to use a well know company. We figured that we couldn't go wrong with using a large company. Well,we were really wrong. They claimed that they were a VOIP network, but with too many problems to go into, we finally said enough and decided to switch. We started to search for a new VOIP provider. Our search finally came to an end when a friend recommended Aptela. Remembering do doing our homework this time, we felt secure that Aptela could provide what our new company was searching for. After switching we were so relieved to finally have a True VOIP network. Will our customer rep was very helpful, even taking calls on the weekend. The Aptela team was very knowledgeable when setting us up with their system. It was very easy and once set up, we have experienced no problems.

The Good:

Pricing (9 out of 10), flexibility (10 of 10), free inbound fax line (10 of 10). Voice quality using the Polycom HD Voice phones is fantastic.

The Bad:

Keep in mind that this is not a Vonage account. With the added features, there is added complexity. The interal set up can be difficult to get used to, but it is worth going through the learning curve. Also, the outbound internal fax is somewhat undependable (suggest continuing to use analog line for this and during power outages).

Long time customer of Aptela As the owner of a collection agency and a payment processing sales organization, I require the maximum amount of flexibility the VoIP has to offer. The Aptela system gives me every feature I can possibly imagine. Other businesses that I talk to are amazed at how I am able to configure our system to handle the individual need of the collection part of the business, while at the same time being able to keep my sales force easily accessable to their clientele. The overall cost for this system exceeds my expectations.

Customer Service and Billing very slow to respond to inquiries 1. System was easy to setup 2. Talk of professional recording is not exactly true. You get one sentence unless you would like pay extra 3. Sound quality is good 4. Tech support is not very responsive. At one point they told us we had some bad phones but it was actually a setting on our router 5. Website is great until you login on the user area. It is clunky and not well designed. They have told me it is being upgraded. I hope so or we will switch. 6. Expect to wait at lease 24 hours for somebody from billing to get back to you. 7. Overall, I am less than satisfied with the entire experience.

Not only are the phones very reliable, but the customer service levels are at the top. The system is very user friendly and I can always reach a live person when I call down for support. Aptela Review I have been an Aptela customer for 6 months and love the service. We use it to connect our two offices and 6 remote workers. We have recommended the service to others and will continue to do so.

The Good:

Very little difference in audio quality from landlines we had before.Easier to screen calls which is essential for multi function employees focused on generating salesExtremely simple to delegate voicemails using Aptela web systemEasy to use ## interface to transfer calls, etc, even from your cell phone!Customer support was very prompt to call me back when I had initial questions after signing upSoftphone which most of our users are on (Counterpath's X-lite) is free and works in windows, mac, and linux environments!Setup process was simple, fast, and both my sales rep and the person who set me up were extremely helpful and knowledgable. We are saving several thousand dollars a year over our previous system that didn't have half the features of Aptela.High quality audio using an aptela phones (Polycom handset as well as softphone) on our corporate HQ internet connection, and no decrease in quality using the same on my home network with standard DSL or our sales manager's Comcast cable internet.andnbsp; I even use the soft phone on my Thinkpad notebood over 802.11g wireless with no loss in quality or choppy conversations!

The Bad:

If you aren't comfortable using a wave file editor, you might be a little bit challenged when trying to edit your main phone tree.andnbsp; This process is cumbersome but once set up, the auto attendant phone tree works flawlessly.Non-proprietary soft phone means somewhat limited support, but so far the application has been extremely reliable and Aptela does have a good deal of documentation. No voicemail to text translation offered by residential VOIP services like vonage.andnbsp; We were not able to find this with any commercial VOIP carrier during our search.Occasional but rare echo back on calls using my softphone, similar to what happens from time to time on my Sprint cell phone.

Happy Aptela customer We are Bavarian Soundwerks, a small company of 6 that needed a way to expand our sales coverage without expanding our workforce. We also wanted a solution that provided appropriate analytics to allow employees to work from home while maintaining individual accountability. We got both of these with Aptela and at a better price than we were being offered from the company that had been handling our phone service. In the last few months since switching to Aptela, we're saving monthly on phone expenses, and we have completely transitioned to a work from home model which is allowing our company headquarters to move to a less costly location and saving us even more money.

Perfect for Small Businesses and Easy to Get Started My real estate agency has been using Aptela for 2 years. They have the perfect solution for any small business that has employees iwho road warriors or work from different locations. We continue to be amazed by the functionality their service offers. As a small business owner, service and support are very important to me. I need a vendor who will be by my side to make sure I have what I need when I need it. Aptela has been there for me. They had specialists that helped my team get started with the service quickly. We sometimes have to wait for live support, but they have made plenty of reference materials available to help us solve many issues (usually user setup questions) on our own. I fully endorse them!

Back to Aptela Our company started with Aptela, left them for Packet 8 and we are now back again. I had to drop a note on this board because of their other harsh comments. Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired, no way around that criticism. If you need help, be persistant and demand response. The product is great however, their features are better than competitors especially the ability to manage calls from my mobile. Quality was horrible with our first experience but we have learned that to have VoIPwe had to invest in a router that manages traffic -- there is no way around that no matter which carrier you go to. If you leave Aptela (or whoever you're with) because of bad quality you may see the same thing at your next carrier. Don't skimp on the router and go with the hardware the company suggests. No problems this time around and we are happy to be back.

The Good:

I have now had Aptela service for over a year, so I have given it a real shake down and can now grade it. As an introduction, let me note that when I first tried a VOIP service I signed up with Vonage (in 2005) and experienced a slew of problems (poor quality, dropped calls, etc.) from the outset. I turned off Vonage after only two months as it was intolerable. I was so disillusioned with my Vonage experience that I stayed out of the VOIP market until late 2007, when the high cost of telephone communications forced me to reconsider. I did a lot of research and I identified six other candidate suppliers for our business. I considered the range of services offered, their reputation (as evidenced from reviews and gripe boards) and price. In the end, Aptela became our choice, but I ventured back into the VOIP market with a lot of skepticism and I fully expected that Iandrsquo;d discontinue that service too. But I was pleasantly surprised. Aptela has been a great service from the start. I have had no installation problems, clarity has been excellent, the prices are affordable and competitive, and customer service has always been available and accurate. The only glitch has been when on one occasion the system went down for a few hours as a result (Iandrsquo;m told) of the mistake of one of Aptelaandrsquo;s suppliers. That was resolved with minimal interruption. Period. Otherwise, the service has been excellent. I would recommend Aptela wholeheartedly to anyone who would want to substitute their regular telephone service with VOIP.

Better than Vocalocity or Packet 8 I'm on my third voipprovider now... Let me save you the time and hassle that I went through. If you're considering voip for your small business, go with Aptela. They're not perfect, but they are miles ahead of the competition (who may save you a few bucks a month, but you'll soon find out why).I understand that voip is not perfect all the time. But, in my opinion, neither isMa Bell, not by a long shot. So, at the bare minimum, I think that customer service should be able to help you get set up, and help you in the event (when) you need assistance. I just didn't find this to be the case with Packet 8 or Vocalocity.Aptela has been there for me since the beginning - even before Isigned up.They made the transition easy, and they've helped out with a few snags along the way (my router was giving me some problems). The call quality is clear, and I'm happy with the service, even if there is an issue from time to time. So, if you want my two cents, go with Aptela, these guys do small business voip the best.

APTELA SAVED MY BUSINESS! I was with a different VoIP provider which was chaotic from the time I signed up until the time I cancelled my service. Thankfully I found this company called Aptela which helped me through all of my woes. Every step was relatively simple. My sales agent explained the entire process to me and even though we had to buy new equipment the cost was still relatively low. I've had service with Aptela a little over a month now and the service has been fantastic. At first we had a few network and firewall problems but the technical department helped me through every step of getting this figured out. Thank you Aptela for saving my business!

You might as well get a Walkie Talkie Our small business has been stuck with Aptela for over a year now. Do not even think of getting this if you are planing on making ANY international calls- the other side just won/t be able to hear you. As phatetic as it sounds, I have to rely on my Skype phone for all outgoing Intl calls.
