The Good:

Quality of service was average until recent outages. ease of use and bring your own device BYOD.

The Bad:

I am leaving Callcentric due to the unuseable service for over a month. You cannot call them for support, but open a ticket which never resolve the issues. Continue to charge even with the service down. Feel totally ripped off and really let down by a company that does not value service commitment to their customers.

Callcentric Unapologetic for over month of down time I was their customer for over 3 years and did not experience any major issues during that time - the call quality was acceptable and the cost reasonable. The problems surfaced when Callcentric faced some serious technical issues that appeared beyond their technical capabilities. Callcentric did not take the down service seriously resulting in extensive downtime - I mean you cannot call out or receive calls and at best you can hear the other party, but they cannot hear you, or repeated dropped calls. Horrible experience that lasted over a month. What tipped it over the edge is that they just couldn't care about the pathetic level of service as long as they have your credit card on file and bill you for service that does not exist.

The Good:

It's was really easy to set up my service with me own equipment and to get my local tel # transfered. The features and price are great.

The Bad:

The past 2 week have been a nightmare. First they are attacked by VoIP terrorists with DDOS and now Hurricane Sandy has taken service completely down -- including their website. Can't even log on to transfer calls to my cell phone. I hope they come through this soon --- or I will have to look for some other option.

Great savings --but lack of service due to DDOS attack and Sandy I really did like Callcentric and have been with them for over 2 years. It was the best and cheapest tel service I ever had. The dashboard on login was so easy to work with and set preferrences. I don't know what I am going to do now that their service is completely down.

Worked great UNTIL SANDY HIT. NO BACKUP GENERATOR!!!!! I loved Callcentric until Sandy hit New York. My (skeptical) wife even agreed to use it. Then hurricane Sandy hit and the lights went out in New York. Callcentric is currently down HARD. Incoming calls just get a busy signal. Our phone gizmo cannot connect to Callcentric servers. It is as if Callcentric did not exist. This is day 2 now. I think I'm out and moving to voip.ms or some other service that has some geographic diversity so that if one location gets hit, the load can be moved to other sites.

CallCentric: No Nonsense Pricing CallCentric's concept of pay per call is a brilliant idea. For those of us who call infrequently, we pay only a few dollars. For those of us who call a great deal, we get a monthly fee that is still a grand discount from the PSTN. Because of the pay per call rules, Idiots like Telemarketers don't tie up CallCentric's channels and your calls go through easily. Lots of devices are supported, No Contract, can be made to fit a 1 phone house, or a whole corporation. I bought it originally because it was the only VOIP that could port my number. I was a skeptic. I like it so much that selling VOIP for Callcentric has become a driving force in my business. We now sell CallCentric, 3CX, and various hardware. I like CallCentric's no nonsense pricing that promotes responsible use and discourages abuse.

Simply the Best! I have tried VOIP services and non have compared to the price and quality i have gotten from callcentric. If you set up your system properly, you will have a great, reliable alternative to an expensive land line. i have had this for 2 years now and have spent less than $120 bucks on this phone service. If you want to just plug in your phone and go or have a customer service rep hold your hand through the process, this may not be for you. but once it is set up, you will have wonderful service and no other service compares in features. There online support is very fast and thorough in their answers, no cut and paste responses. they actually give you an answer you can use.

Very Happy with Call Centric I had read a lot about VoIP services before deciding to try CallCentric. My technical abilities are limited but I bought one of their supported devices from Amazon at a much lower price than they were going for on Ebay and took a chance. Setup was not difficult tough a number of changes had to be made, including a code string with customer support provided to enable 7 digit local calling. I kept Verizon for a few months but found CallCentric so reliable that I dropped landlines entirely. I use their pay-per-call plan and the only recurring fees are for my ported home phone # and E911. My average monthly bill totals about $6. My house is old and most rooms are wired for phone, so I connected the adapter to my junction box in the basement (instructions were on line and easy to follow). Now all of the phones in the house (11) wired and cordless work well with the system. A UPS protects me from power outages (none yet). Tech support by email has been precise and excellent. Sound quality is very good except when calling cell phones when it can be spotty at times. Call features are very good and easily accessed as desired from the on line "dashboard". My only complaint is that it took many weeks to port my home number to CallCentric. Other than that, the experience has been very good and I have no plans to ever change.

Great web-site (call treatments are cool, it's like a rules wizard for your phone). Good international rates. Reliable service. Customer service is very responsive.

Great service! I love Callcentric! The web-site is great, the calls are clear and the pricing is very competitive. Callcentric is a BYOD, which is also nice since you can configure your device how you want it. The biggest minus to Callcentric, is that it can require a higher degree of technical skill/knowledge depending on what you want to do. For example, if you want to be able to do local 7 digit dialing, you need to configure your phone adapter to do this (which can be complicated on some adapters) since Callcentric wants all numbers to be the full country/area code format. Also, don't like their 800 rates. They charge for 800 number calls at .0088 cents/min. If they would drop that charge, then this service would be perfect.

The Good:

Inexpensive:andnbsp; Callcentric provides the possibility of totally free SIP based communications when 911 services are not required.andnbsp; SIP to SIP calls are free.andnbsp; Inbound callsandnbsp; to your Callcentric ATA over landlines are done using DID numbers that can be purchased for as little atandnbsp; $1.95 / mth on the IP Freedom plan, providing your family and friends with a local number they can use to reach you anywhere in the world that has an Internet connection.Support: andnbsp;Compared to the Vonage andquot;voice basedandquot; customer service, CallCentric's email based responses are superior, as I don't have to wait in a call queue for 20 minutes only to be handed off to a customer service drone that doesandnbsp;nothing butandnbsp;read from a script.andnbsp;Quality: andnbsp; The 29a codec is supported and provides good voice quality.Availability:andnbsp; In the two years I've been using them their network has only been unavailble once for a period of more than a few hours.Payment:andnbsp; PayPal makes a great way to do business with this vendor.andnbsp; You have the option of providing a recurring funding source without providing a credit card number.

The Bad:

I wouldn't complain if they got around to adding andquot;Selective Call Blockingandquot; to their feature set.

Callcentric and Linksys SPA3102 - a great combination. Callcentric is a BYOD (bring your own device) VoIP provider. The SPA3102 has a large technical following for this very capable ATA. Linksys has been acquired by Cisco, so the documentation for the device is better than ever. With both FXA and FXS ports on one device it is like a mini-PBX, and at a price of around $60 it is a bargain! So you plug a cordless phone base into one port, the Line port goes to the wall jack (if you have local CO dialtone or to a PBX) and the Ethernet goes to your ISP. The feature set allows you to automatically forward calls to other numbers like cell phones and to restrict use based on passwords.

Rich feature set and great sound quality makes this one of the best providers I have just spent the last month reviewing several VOIP providers. I even signed up for many of them only to find that they were not reliable or properly disclosed their billing practices and so I had to cancel them. I was just about to give up and then I came across callcentric. This one is by far the most reliable and professional designs I have seen. Many of the Voip providers have very buggy interfaces and it was very frustrating configuring them. Callcentric is very intutive with a number of great features. Their call treatment feature allows you to even schedule the way you handle incomming calls. You can even have someone send you a fax and callcentric will email it to you. They have definately thought through the service offering and its simply first class. Just about the only con is that they don't let you pick your own phone numbers and so you may end up having to port yours over if you have a better one. Customer service is done by email and so you cannot get immediate results but in the few instances I needed customer service, they were very responsive. At the end of the day, Callcentirc allowed me to cut my phone bills in half and provided me with a number of additional features that I never had. A+

Great Service So Far We are a video surveillance/POS Integrationcompany with multiple lines. We are paying about $260/month for 4 lines, so we started using our FiOS connection for voice calls with Callcentric. So far, the only issues we've had has been misconfiguration on our side using 3CX as our internal PBX and of course our wireless headsets, but that's not Callcentric's fault. We have asked over 50 customers about the quality of the call and 100% have indicated it's no different than it was before using conventional land line.Prices are $0.0198 per minute and our bill this month has been less than $48, plus now we have an auto-attendant service along with extensions, music on hold and lots of other features.I am somewhat disappointed that Callcentric's features aren't as rich as some other companies such as Voicemail to Text/Email, but for now, we can live with $210/month more in our pockets than the phone company's!!!Our broadband service is 5Mbps downstream, 2Mbps upstream with us doing constant video surveillance monitoring for our customers in addtion to slightly higher than normal Internet traffic.I'll post additional updates as we use the service more.

Callcentric is great. Best Bar None. Callcentric does a great job. One of the few providers that does not charge a monthly fee for phone service. They do have a $2.37 emergency 911 recovery fee per month for all users that will require calling outside of their other users. So, no it is not really free per month. However for roughly $4.50 per month you can have a phone number and be able to call pretty much anywhere in the world for $.02 per minute. Most other providers charge you $20 per month just for the service. Thus for the price difference of $15.50 you can talk for 775 minutes per month. This is great. If you don't use the service you don't pay any more than the $4.50 per month. Call quality is great over the FIOS network. You also get all of the features that the phone company makes you pay for (eg. call forwarding, caller ID etc). Billing is easy and customer service is great via email. No, they don't have a phone based customer service, but they are very responsive to email. The website is easy to use also. I can't say enough great things about their service.

Liking Callcentric Started using callcentric about 4.5 months ago; and I really like them. I had a little trouble getting it setup with my adapter, but callcentric support quickly helped me with the problems I was having and since then everything has been great. Callcentric hasn't had any outages I've noticed and all calls have sounded good. I decided to ditch my landline and replace it with callcentric and I've very satisfied with the results and the large savings every month. I do wish they would provide phone support, but considering my experience with their support so far it hasn't proved to be a problem.

Stay Away - I bough $5 credit for an employee of mine from Callcentric. I only authorize them for $5 credit nothing else. They kept charging me for the following months without my authorization. When I found out about the charges. They blame me with their unauthorized charges -------------------------- Hello, We have been updated by our billing department that these funds cannot be refunded. The facts in this case are as follows: 1 - You added funds to your account with a new credit card on January 11th 2008 ----------------------------- Yes I bough $5 credit that is all. Incoming calls For some reason with Callcentric I had ongoing problems. People calling my phone would get a busy signal or no answer. Callcentric at first didn't think calls were coming in because it didn't even make it to their system (i.e. nothing logged even at their end). They told me it was with their carriers lines. They told me it was fixed twice, but still people call and say they've been trying for hours. I have 4 other VOIP lines with different carriers, all work great. I had a second line with callcentric, which seemed to work fine. Unfortunately for me, Callcentric was the line I used for my HOME phone. Quite the hassle. I'm porting the number to another provider since they were unable to resolve it.

Great company This is my first VOIP setup and I am so pleased with the results that I had to write a review. Callcentric's website is very informative and intuitive. They are a BYOD service. They have setup pages for many different devices. Following their instructions, I easily setup my SPA2102 adapter and was up and running. Within a day, I've submitted to have my number ported to them. Their prices are very competitive as well. They let you charge up your account as you need to rather than a monthly bill.

Love Callcentric I've had this service for about 6 months now, and have been extremely happy with it. At first I was hesitant to go with a company without direct phone support, but they get back to you so quickly and efficiently resolve issues submitted via their ticketing system. It seems to work great, and saves them money, which allows them to save us money on our rates, while still maintaining excellent infrastructure for our calls. Keep up the great work guys!

Overall great service I am using Midcontinent Cable with a BYOD (Bring your own device) Linksys Pap2t. This service has been working great since the day I got it, except for a brief outage which was fixed promptly. I had one issue where the service wasn't working and they said in about a day that i should use the G711u codec instead of the G729a. The G711u is 8KBytes a second but I suppose that means higher quality. The G711u is 1KBytes a second. I was able to setup and test my Voip device on their website which was nice, but I couldn't make any calls or receive any calls except for the click2dial test service or another callcentric user (Didn't know anyone else that has this). The Price is about average compared to other voip service providers. I gave it a 4 because I believe this price range is fair. The first month is 5.95 (for unlimited inbound calls with a real number + 5.95 for setup) + 19.95 (for unlimited outbound calling in the USA and Canada) + 2.03 (for a one time 911 setup fee) + 2.37 (for the 911 monthly fee)= 36.25. They bill partial month if you order in the middle of the month and bill the next month if you order after the 20th of the month. So the total can vary depending on when you order. Currently i am using just the 5.95 unlimited inbound calls. Monthly it totals 8.32. Monthly the whole package would cost 28.27 which about ties with vonage. Viatalk would have been cheaper but it has a outbound call limit of 5100 minutes on their promotional unlimited package which costs 199 per year. (it comes with unlimited inbound calling) Other providers that had the BYOD and a cheaper price I couldn't get in touch with so I didn't order from them. I think Vonics was one. Mylowphone was another. Well this is all i can remember. Thanks for reading.

Welcome relief after VoIP.com! I am a Sunrocket/Teleblend survivor who ended up with VoIP.com! Have added Callcentric as an 'extremely' low cost back up! I pay $1.95 per month and 1.5 cents/minute for incoming calls and 1.98 cents/minute for outgoing calls. On VoIP many incoming calls were missed or delayed! I set up my VoIP account to forward ALL calls to my Callcentric number and havent missed any calls after that. I bought a Linksys PAP2 two line phone adapter and put VoIP on line one and Callcentric on line two. All of my two line phones now have both services, and I am using a Radio Shack two-line adapter for my cordless phones. All incoming calls come in on my Callcentic service and outgoing calls go out on VoIP. Since VoIP charges a $40 cancellation fee, I plan to continue to try and make outgoing calls via VoIP until the end of my contract. I was very happy with Callcentric until this past Tuesday and Wednesday! On Tuesday morning, for about two hours, I had trouble making and receiving calls and then again on Wednesday night, I received a long distance call where they said they finally reached me on their third try over several hours! Then I realized that on Tuesday morning, my phone number was being ported from VoIP to Callcentrics, and on Thursday, when I logged in to the Callcentric sitethere was a large box with a statement apologizing for short outage on Wednesday while they were doing some maintenance work. It is a great service!

Great reliable service I switched to CallCentric from Axvoice due to terrible customer service there. Setup was extremely easy, clear instructions on the website enabled me to configure my RTP300 router for their service in less then 5 minutes. Customer service is email-only and works via support tickets. Response times are very good. Sound quality for calls is great, international rates are very competitive. 10-digit dial works. Number porting is available. Web access customer portal is great, layout is efficient and easy to use. $6 for unlimited personal incoming calls is fine, $30 World Select international plan is on the expensive side, I wish it was around $25. They use G729a codec which takes only 8Kbps of bandwidth. Overall I'm very happy with the service and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try CallCentric.

Great deal I have been with various VOIP providers for 4 years now and the only one which was reliable at a low cost went out of business (SUNROCKET). For 2 months now I subscribed and I setup the old gizmo from S/R to use with CALCENRIC and I am 100% satisfied. They have all the features I want, prompt reply from customer service to any trouble ticket which I opened online, and crisp clear connections. The test they offer on their website for free it is actually disappointing, but all the real calls work excellent!!! I strongly recommend this company. I want to mention that I am using only pay as you go service after I transferred my old number, and I pay only $1.95 monthly fee, but I expect that all other monthly plans are good just like this one.

Asterisk user Its been 1 month sofar and the service is working well. Call quality can be affected by many things, but so far, the clarity is very good. I'm using the pay as you go plan with a low cost DID number. The DID is configured so Callcentric receives faxes for me and emails the pdf to my public email account. I use the account for outbound calls only with Asterisk performing least cost routing. Management-wise, the dashboard provided is very good. The basic CDR helped alot with asterisk configuration debugging. Between Asterisk CDR and Callcentric CDR, there was enough information to configure outbound routes and working inbound routes if I choose to enable those routes in the future. I also created a free test account separate from the production account to simulate inbound calls for testing. Also very handy.

I've been a faithful Vonage customer for nearly 2 years, but with no innovation and the rates increasing with taxes, it was time for a change. I found Callcentric through various reviews and completely concur with most people's opinions. The customer support, although email only has been incredibly fast and always helpful. The pricing tiers are fair, although can be confusing to anyone new.

Crazy for buying this service if you want unlimited features This is not one of the best service plans out there in the market for VoIP. With this service you have to pay for unlimited outgoing calls(19.99/mon)and unlimited incoming calls with is an extra 19.99/mon. They also have other plans where you can just pay for however many mins you expect to use for the month. I figure this service is not good on your pockets if you are looking to save money for regular features which are in any modern day phone packages anyway. If you are looking for a limited package deal this would be a good plan, but most people are looking for unlimited. This company will have you paying big time for unlimited service. That is like $40.00/mon just for those two features. Not going with this service plan saves me a lot of money in the first place lol.

I've read reviews here and decided to settle on callcentric as it was bring your own equipment, relatively low cost rates and ratings were relatively good. I have been using the service for almost 6 months and i give it 5 stars across the board, didn't experience any problems other than a few with my equipment but that was the fault of my hardware not the callcentric. Service works relatively well with my Linksys SPA2102 with fax and regular phone hooked up to it though you need to play around with fax settings a bit to get at right settings.

Incoming calls extra Not happy with service. Ok, I'm mostly unhappy with voipreview.org, but I guess it is my fault for not researching more about Callcentric. The price doesn't seem too bad, ... until you find out that you don't get a phone number with their "unlimited" plan. Yes, I *am* new to VOIP, but shouldn't that be noted somewhere on the voipreview.org phone service plan information web page? Callcentric should certainly explicitly state this. As for the sound quality, it is less than what I expected, but I am probably more demanding that most--yes I have a solid connection with plenty of upload and nothing else going on during sub-par voice quality calls.

Man, it was like a breath of fresh once I realized the customer service was as prompt they say they will be (and just as helpful). Everyone's experience will probably be different with them, but this is not really meant for beginners in the VoIP game. Anyway, LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

I just signed up 2 days ago. Setup was fairly easy using the Grandstream 286 I bought through Atacomm. The instructions on the website worked well. Call quality seems good so far. I am paying $5.95 per month for to receive calls and using the Pay Per Call for outgoing. Rates for outgoing seem good compared to most others, especially for international calls. I haven't had to call support, so I can't comment on that. I like not having to pay connection fees. You still have to pay $8.25 for your phone (DID) number (one-time charge) and $4.40 (I think monthly) for 911 fee. It cost me altogether about $70 including equipment to get started with this. I think it was well worth it.

Good Service, Great Price I use Callcentric with asterisk. It works well, I have no major complaints. My calls are completed and the sound quality is very good. The couple of times I needed help, I opened a trouble ticket and support immediately addressed my concerns. The only complaint I have is that they don't allow you to pass your own caller ID, and while I have never opened a trouble ticket on this one, the DTMF signaling seems not always to pass properly... it's good enough for basic menus, but if you want to send or receive any long string of digits (ie. bank card number, etc.) sometimes it doesn't work right. But excellent service overall. Would highly recommend to anyone needing cheap calling-- particularly cheap international calling. Their rates are some of the best I have found.

I am really impressed with the provider Guys, I have been able to try a few providers, one of them was Zingo Telecom in US. That provider is a band of crooks who were sucking money from my credit cards until I delt with them via my bank and reissuing my credit cards in order to block the charges. Another BYOD VoIP provider is sipnet.ru - Russian company with mean quality bt very flexible billing and configuration panel, but that company does not offer inbound phone numbers. Then I started searching for good and reliable company, I was looking at Vonage (I have it running in my Company), but it is not what wanted... after a month of reading reviews an? comparing prices, policies and calling tech support to most companies, I finally got to CallCentric.com and was really surprised. Quality of calls is almost on the high level (among the companies I did try services - it has the best quality), flexible options, no registration and cancellation fees, complete control of billing system in my account and much more... Tech support is on highest level... SO, I am really surprised with the company and the way how they make business. Hope to stay with them as long as possible...

The support received via their website has been superlative with responses to my 'trouble tickets' being timely and right on target in the response and solution. Scam - Not from what I've seen I don't get what the "BIG SCAM!" guy is talking about. I've been using these guys for around 9 months or so and consider their service excellent. How he got them on the phone I don't get as they state on their website in the frequently asked questions: http://www.callcentric.com/faq.php?s_go=1andsearch=support+troubleandgo=Search that they don't do phone sales or support. However every trouble ticket i've opened with them to ask a question (around 10 so far) has been answered in less than 24 hours and almost all the cases in less than a few hours. I'm also not clear how this person claims they were billed for 3 months when there system doesn't even offer that option; I know because I never found a way to do it. When I asked via a trouble ticket (again which as answered really fast) if I could get a discount for ordering for more than one month they told me that they don't offer billing for more than one month at a time. Anyways, I really like these guys and they been really helpful and friendly with the general questions and setup questions I've had. I kind of find it hard to believe this persons story. The comments in the forums about them on dslreports (where I originally found them) also show no negative comments I've run across.
