Nextiva Editorial Review

Nextiva Connect 360 Explained

Cheap Calls with Nextiva Connect 360

Nextiva Connect 360 is Nextiva's big fish phone system. In addition to the great features included with Nextiva Connect (including a virtual PBX/ auto attendant), Nextiva Connect 360 includes at least 1000 call out minutes, per line, per month. With Nextiva Connect 360 Unlimited, you get unlimited calls in the US and Canada.

You also get low international rates (one of the Top 10 Reasons to Switch to VoIP) and free Nextiva Network Calls. Toll-free minutes are always 3.5 cents a minutes for your inbound callers.

US-Based Support with Nextiva Connect 360

Not only is support with Nextiva Connect based in the US, but you get a personal service representative for your account. This person is intended to make your experience with Nextiva as "hassle-free" as possible.

Nextiva also offers complete setup support, in addition to phone, chat, and email contact with technical support, sales, and billing.

New Local Number Included with Nextiva Connect 360

If you're starting a new business, Nextiva is the way to go. You get a new number included in your monthly subscription. There isn't an additional monthly fee, an additional setup fee, or a surprise activation fee.

If you're converting your existing phone system, Nextiva can enable SIP Trunking. And you can always port your number for free.

E911 Service Included

Call during an emergency if you need help. E911 is enabled for Nextiva Connect 360 service.

Nextiva's legal documents also do a good job of explaining their E911 service.

Phone Not Included

An IP phone or an ATA adapter isn't included in the per month price of Nextiva Connect 360. Nextiva does offer some phones with their plan, but you're probably better buying it separately. If you buy your equipment separately, won't have to return your equipment when you are done with it and you may pay less. If you don't buy the adapter from them, you don't have to return it!

Nextiva Connect 360 Limited Specifics

  • 500 inbound minutes
  • 500 outbound minutes
  • Unlimited Nextiva Network Calls
  • $24.95 a month
  • $19.95 a month for three months
  • More Minutes: 3.5 cents each
  • Softphone Support

Nextiva Connect Explained

Stay Connected with Nextiva Connect

With virtual extensions, each with Voicemail, easy-to-use Call Forwarding, and an Online Control Panel (Nextiva calls it a "Web Portal Interface") Nextiva Connect gives your travelling staff flexibility while keeping you connected. Voicemail to email also means that your staff will never lose track of a sale or inquiry.

Split One Number with Nextiva Connect

One toll-free or local number means your brand or company's contact information stays the same, always.

Those virtual extensions and an auto attendant mean that you project a positive, professional image — and you get to keep that famous recording that you've had forever. (Or, use that new attendant to justify a professional recording.)

Disadvantages of Nextiva Connect

Nextiva Connect's big disadvantage is that you can't call out with the VoIP service. It is a fairly cheap voicemail and call forwarding service, if you have a phone service that does what you need it to.

Nextiva Connect 100 Specifics

  • 100 minutes
  • 10 extensions
  • $12.95 a month
  • $8.95 a month with annual option
  • More minutes: 5 cents each

Nextiva Connect 100 is the cheapest of Nextiva's service options: 100 minutes, up to 10 extensions for $12.95, plus federal taxes. By purchasing Nextiva Connect 100 annually, you can get a discount of 33% - so, $8.95 a month (remember, you'll save on taxes, too!). With taxes and fees, the per year total for Nextiva Connect 100 is just over $130.

5 cents a minute for extra minutes is cheap, but Nextiva Connect 500 and Nextiva Connect Unlimited are a better deal. If you aren't going to use the minutes, though, Nextiva Connect 100 should be fine.

Nextiva Connect 500 Specifics

  • 500 minutes
  • 20 extensions
  • $24.95 a month
  • $19.95 a month with an annual option
  • More Minutes: 4.5 cents each

Nextiva Connect 500 is the middle ground for Nextiva's service options: 500 minutes, up to 20 extensions for $25 a month, plus taxes. With the annual option, Nextiva Connect 500 will cost you $20 a month. Overall, that'll be just over $250 for a year.

4.5 cents a minute is a little cheaper than Nextiva Connect 100. By paying for Nextiva Connect 500 instead of Connect 100, you'll save around $9 a month.

Upgrade to Nextiva Connect 500 from Nextiva Connect 100 if you use more than 320 minutes a month.

Nextiva Connect Unlimited Specifics

  • Unlimited minutes
  • 100 extensions
  • $69.95 a month

Nextiva Connect Unlimited is the premier Nextiva service option. For $70 a month, you get unlimited calls and up to 100 extensions.

Nextiva Connect Unlimited is intended for a lot of use and a lot of users. If you use Nextiva Connect 500 for 1600 minutes or more a month, then you should try Nextiva Connect Unlimited.

Upgrade to Nextiva Connect Unlimited from Nextiva Connect 500 if you use more than 1600 minutes a month.

Nextiva Terms and Conditions Review

  • One page for all documents
  • All PDFS
  • Easy to read and clear

Nextiva, like most VoIP providers, offers several legal documents that you sign off on, before you can accept their service. We've taken a look at them.

All their documents are located on one page on their website, which makes them easy to find. That's good. All their documents are PDFs; that's also a good thing (because you can keep them on your computer).

Nextiva's terms and conditions are easy-to-read and clear. In addition to disclosing contact information, this makes it easy to see what you are getting with Nextiva's service, what rights you give up, and what rights you keep. They don't hide any fees in the paperwork, either.

The Good:

Nextiva provides a very nice package of features at a very reasonable price. Customer service is friendly and easy to reach.

The Bad:

I had sound quality issues from day one. After 3 months, Nextiva never resolved the issue. I had to cancel the service. I found out that the number given to me was not portable. I am starting a new business and had to change my phone number, business cards and advertising to reflect a new number. Nextiva refund policy is VERY POOR! They accepted NO financial responsibility for providing me inferior service from day one.

Nextiva: Inferior Service I thought the service was great for the first month. I then received complaints from business associates that they kept hearing sounds as though I was hitting keys on my phone during the call and found it distracting and making it necessary for me to repeat myself frequently. Undoubtedly, potential customers heard this and chose not to tell me how bad the connection was which certainly did not help the good impression I was trying to promote. I spent 1 month not knowing about the problem and two months trying to resolve the issue with Nextiva. I spent hours and hours on the phone with them. I replaced the modem with my cable company, replaced the Nextiva adapter, and purchased a new router from Nextiva. I also had numerous technical adjustments maded from Nextiva. I was probably told 5 times that the most recent solution effort would almost certainly resolve my problem. One tech support person said the chances of his solution being successful was 99.5%. Nothing ever helped.I finally had to give up and move on. When I went with another provider (my cable company) I have had no voice issues, but found out that the number Nextiva provided me was not portable. This caused me to have to spend money to redo my business cards and advertising materials. Businesses who may decide at a later date to call me on the old number will not reach me.Nextiva did not financially refund me what they should have. They charged me for 3 months of inferior voice quality. They knew they were doing this for the last 2 months. The adapter I purchased and was then replaced was not refundable because I had the original adapter over 30 days. I only had the replacement adapter for two weeks and it did not resolve the issue. I am stuck with a $55 adapter plus shipping that never worked. I paid $87 for a router from Nextiva that I was assured would resolve my issue. After 5 phone calls, they finally gave me instructions for sending it back. I will see if they refund the purchase price of the router as they told me they would. I am still stuck with the paying the cost of delivery of this router and also the cost of sending it back. I have spent over $250 for inferior Nextiva services that will not be refunded. Obviously I also am out the cost of replacing all of my advertising materials due to the lack of portability of Nextiva's number.Clearly many Nextiva customers are not having these technical issues. Without these issues, I would be happy with their service. If you go with them, just realize that if you have problems, they will not make it right.

In my second month of using Nextiva Nextiva is my third voip provider and I primarily chose them because my first two providers, Vonage and Aptela, could not solve my issues. I spent countless hours with the tech support for Vonage and Aptela without permanently fixing the quality of phone calls. With Nextiva the voice quality is good and I had my problems fixed on the second day of being with them. The Nextiva identified that the problem was with my router and the way my office Internet network is designed. I am in my second month of using Nextiva and I would recommend the service it is great.

Their system is buggy and it goes down frequently. When their system goes down, they do not notify customers. Their billing system has double billed me on three seperate occassions, and customer service is a 10-12 minute wait consistently.

Nextiva: buggy system Yesterday, I had a mission critical fax to send while I was working in the field. This what nextiva was designed for . At 12:58 I uploaded my fax. Unbeknownst to me, Nextiva fax server went down for most of yestaerday. My mission critical fax sat on their server until 9:57PM. Needless to say I missed the deadline and lost the business.A simply courtesy email could have easily saved the day. But Nextiva's basic customer service startegy is to deny, then ignore then overbill.Although the interface is easy to load and send faxes, their customer support and system realiability makes them a net liability rather then an asset.I have taken the time to write this review based on the customer service agents promise that a supervisor would call back, and as I have te day off, I will continue to write reviews until said call back occurs.

Nextiva: Very good overall service After switching from a local PBX to Nextiva not only did we realize a great cost savings we also got a better call quality and easier to manage system. The ability to send calls to any cell phone after hours and to travel with our phones has become some of our favorite features. It allows us to field calls from anywhere with an internet connection, or anywhere with cell reception. We had some issues getting the system set up how we wanted at first but the customer service department helped us and gave us easy to read training materials to fix our issues. Very good overall service that we have recommended to other businesses.

Nextiva Voip: Switching was simple Once my phone numbers transferred to the Nextiva phone system there were no more issues and I became free from Qwest. I would rate them 5 stars for every category here, but with free services like Skype and Google I would say Nextiva is not the cheapest service option. But for the amount I pay each month it is a great deal that I am satisfied with.

I have been satisfied with Nextiva I have been a Nextiva customer for almost two years. While my experience with Nextiva as a phone company may be unique, I would like to share my views. I graduated from Penn with a degree in psychology in 2008 and after a year of research and fieldwork, I opened my own practice in Los Angeles. When I was researching for phone companies, my options were to go with Time Warner Cable or a voice over ip company. I spent a week looking into providers and chose Vonage. Voice over ip was and is the right way to go. Vonage looked good and was the most affordable option. After my first month with Vonage being filled with calls to their support helpline and no progress being made, I decided to get my money back and search for other providers. Vonage continuously blamed Time Warner and Time Warner would blame Vonage. It felt like I spent more time dealing with the phone problems than on my business. Since nearly every office in my building was using Time Warner, I assumed that the issue was on Vonage's end. My second round of research for a new phone company introduced me to Nextiva. The person I worked with to establish my service, Albert, was knowledgable. Since the process of moving phone numbers from one phone company to another took 2 weeks, I decided to lose the number I got from Vonage. I ended up getting a local 310 number with a toll free and fax line from Nextiva for $30 each month. Since voice over IP phones were priced at over $150 I purchased an adapter by Linksys that had the same functionality as the one from Vonage. The same day I received the adapter (which I bought on Amazon) I called Nextiva for setup assistance. If I recall correctly the call took less than 20 minutes and I was setup perfectly. My Nextiva line has been clear without any drops since my first day. I moved to a new office last October as well as added 2 employees and a partner. Prior to the move I purchased Polycom IP phones directly from Nextiva and added the new lines to the phone system. Every call and interaction I've had with Nextiva has been pleasant. Everyone has been courteous and helpful. There may not be a cookie cutter phone system or "one size fits all" phone company for every business but I have been satisfied with Nextiva and would recommend everyone I know to use them.

Worst Business Manners I had high hopes for this VOIP after reading the great reviews. However, buyer beware! Once you sign the contract the service quality immediately depreciates. First of all, I could never get a hold of my original sales rep to place the order for my phones. Due to his lack of support, I barely was able to set up my phones in time before the numbers were ported and mind you this takes 2-4 weeks. Setting up the Polycom phones is very easy. You can even find instructions online and do this without a tech. Their level one techs are not bad. Very pleasant for the most part and I did deal with many if not all of them. Tier 2 techs (for when you have major issues), good luck. Just dont even bother waiting for them to contact you back. They pushed my issue regarding a panasonic phone as "unfixable" and a problem with MY internet. after 3 weeks of incredibly frustrating attempts to find someone at Nextiva willing to help, one special level one tech figured out the problem. THEIR coding was wrong. And it was such a small and minor fix to get this line working. After my second attempt and now pretty furious email, a supervisor finally contacted me to apologize for the issues. (this is before the situation was resolved). He assured me they would assist me and compensate me after the issue was resolved. Now? His email doesnt work, the sales reps email doesnt work, no replies from billing (just to get a copy of an invoice for phones ordered that they never forwarded to me), and no replies from the general sales@, billing@, and welcome@ email's. Seriously I have never NEVER dealt with a company so unorganized, and with such a large lack of respect for even just decent customer service. If you are lucky and have no problems setting up, they are ok. Otherwise, although they do not outsource, boy, they are no help. By the way, note that when they port your fax number, you WILL have down time. You have to contact them when your fax number is ported so they can make changes. And yes, they fail to tell you this beforehand.

Nextiva: their people seemed to be the most knowledgeable This service has been nearly perfect from the start. While Nextiva is the only voip company I have used for my office, I did shop around before choosing them. Their people seemed to be the most knowledgeable and that was my main reason for going with them. The price is much cheaper than most of the options out there. If you use them, I recommend trying the voicemail to email service. It's free and works on my iphone.

Nextiva does it right and they dont cut any corners Talk about an all american Company that is hands on with their clients. No mickey mouse customer care service departments that cant speak english like the past Voip companies I was with...Nextiva does it right and they dont cut any corners. Ive been with them for a period of 3 years now and have had nothing but the best of quality. My staff is more than happy with them and so am I.I have had experiance with 2 other Voip companies and it can be a nightmare. If anyone is deciding between picking the right Voip, let this review be your break point to chose Nextiva. Ryan R.

HIGHLY recommend Nextiva After being with several different VOIP companies throughout the years, I luckily discovered Nextiva and have been with for the past 2 years. Their system and service is really geared towards any small or large business. We have a customer service dept and sales dept all which run off Nextiva's system. I would HIGHLY recommend Nextiva to anyone looking for a reliable VOIP Company.

The actual service is terrific - Nextiva Review I first started with nextiva as a user of their fax service. After a few months of everything going well I signed up for their phone service as well. Not only have each of my interactions been positive but the actual service is terrific. My highest form of praise must be given and they deserve it. I had a person help me with the setup of my service and switching to nextiva was not difficult. I recommend them to each of my advertising clients and the other businesses I deal with.

Nextiva: superior service and support I spent the last 12 months as a VOIP customer of 8x8. I was locked into a contract and without huge disconnect fees we were trapped. The phones arrived and few weeks after having baby spiders hatched from inside the phones. We were on the phone with there technical support weekly for 12 months. Each time we were given a different story. As a company who makes outbound calls to generate income we lost a lot customers and money due to the service outages we experienced with them. I had to pay my employees while they sat and waited for the service issues to be resolved. I had 9 lines with them and the monthly bill was crazy after the promo ended. I was trying to downsize and save money after having a integrated T1. I switch to 8x8. I was about to go back to copper lines from the local phone company due to my distaste with VOIP. I was on vacation in Las Vegas and couldn't get in contact with my office. I saw in my email that there was 45 missed calls that never rang to the office and went to voicemail. I immediately searched the web and found NEXTIVA. My sales advisor Jeff made me feel that VOIP was still the way to go for my business. I was given a risk free trial and within few days I had my equipment. The setup was a breeze and got walked right thru. The quality of service and support is superior. We have not had any of the problems we experienced with our old provider. I cannot express how grateful I am to Jeff and NEXTIVA for getting my business phone service back online 100% of the time. They ported my numbers fast and without any delays. I would highly recommend NEXTIVA to anyone who is looking for a VOIP system. Not to mention they provide the customer with some of the best brands in hardware. SincerelyAndrew

I Highly Recommend Nextiva My experience with the Nextiva phone service has been very good. The price is good for the monthly service and practically everything has worked well. My primary reason for switching to them was because I moved into a new office and needed a phone system. I partially ignored all the features for the first few months but after the tax season rush I spent time learning about the features and how things work. Calls to my phone number now ring my cellular phone if I'm not at my desk and after that forward to my receptionist during business hours. The online control panel is good since it allows me to manage all aspects of my account. Without any doubts I would highly recommend Nextiva.

Nextiva Customr Review We decided to try out VoIP based on the press about savings and features over traditional phone providers. This outfit (Nextiva) had 5-star reviews and seemed like they might be a good choice. However, it turned out to be a bad experience.Their salesperson started by assuring us that they could handle the phone configuration we had in mind (quite simple - Trixbox PBX with 2lines in to 5 internal phones). However, as soon as we got hooked up we had nothing but problems from day 1. They initialliy could not get our configuration to work. They gave up on that and signed us up for their hosted plan. But they then came back and tried to charge us more for using the hosted service. We went back to the TrixBox which started working to some degree, but we soon found out that any little change made to the configuration required a change of some sort on their end. It all ended when their support group came to the conclusion that they were a hosted provider and could not support a configuration such as this. They were nice about it. I did get calls and E-mails checking in to see how things were going. They were just not very competent and did not seem to know what they were doing.

The Nextiva voice over ip service has been a great option for us The Nextiva voice over ip service has been a great option for us. I sell dental equipment and use a softphone for calling and receive everything on my cell phone. The good part is, everyone calls my business phone number, yet the calls ring to my cell phone.I travel nearly every week for work and use the softphone to place calls. It runs off my computer and internet connection so I usually use the wireless at each hotel. I never purchased a desktop phone since it doesn't make sense for me. Plus the softphone is free. All in all the Nextiva has been good for my needs.

Nextiva - An Unhappy Customer Review I did an incredible amount of due diligence prior to choosing Nextiva as my VOIP provider. I was impressed with the high rating and reviews I read on line but now I believe that they may all be fake reviews. Maybe I am the only only who has been kept hostage by Nextiva for the last 8 months but I doubt it. My experience with this company has been a nightmare! I have been paying for 8 months services I have not received. We can not make out-going calls, incoming calls go directly to voicemail and I haven't seen a single fax come through. We estimate we have spent a total of 180 hours trying to fix this problem, have lost an immeasurable amount of business and our cell phone bills have skyrocketed since this is our only way to make outgoing calls. When we work with customer service they do not keep track of your account but only track the ticket number so you have to waste your time going through Level I to get to Level II service every time. There is only one customer service rep who knows what he is doing and we either had to stay on hold or wait 2 days for him to call us back because he is overworked. Why didn't I cancel? I was so frustrated at one point I was going to switch back to landlines but was told by the carrier it could take 3 months to switch and once I began the process I couldn't just stop it so I decided to be patient. What a mistake!

Nextiva Customer Reviews Using Nextiva has been very good. I bought three phones from them when we signed up and had them transfer my main number. The people that have helped us in their customer service have been smart and prompt. I am paying less on my phone service but getting more out of it. Switching phone companies was a good decision and Nextiva has been stellar. I would tell anyone looking for a new phone company to use them -- voice over IP is much better than landlines.

Nextiva: One of the worst companies that I've ever had to deal with One of the worst companies that I've ever had to deal with. Promise support turn around of an hour that turns into days. Support itself is ineffective. Most of the support responses are a variant of "check SIP ALG on router". We've been using these guys for about a year and trying to grow our company but they clearly can't handle it. We have 14 lines with them and our calls get dropped, sound quality is choppy even with QoS, and many of the extensions can't be dialed directly. I've tried to get them to fix the issues but it seems every time I talk to them the service only deteriorates further. Don't trust your business to these guys especially if you need your phone service to be stable or reliable. I'm moving all of our users to Vocalocity.

Nextiva VoIP Review - Everything has been great! I can't say much about these guys other than they have been great. I think it is pretty clear across the board that their customer service and tech support is great. We had a couple issues when we were setting up the phone, but they endd up being issues with the phone, which wasn't even their responsibility since we bought those through another company. They still worked with me to get us up and going, upgraded the phone remotely, and were just very helpful. From the time I picked up the phone to call and order to the time we were up and running fully was about 2 hours. No time at all and would have been about 30 minutes if we didn't have issues with the phones themselves. Great company!

Nextiva Voip Review I have been a customer of Nextiva since 8/09 and have been happy. Mobility was what I need for my calling and my cell phone is not the right fit for me. I can't operate my business off of my cell phone. I use voip on my computer with Bria and Nextiva. Since I travel regularly I got myself a wireless card from Sprint and I'm able to make all my business related calls from my computer. The caller ID information shows my business name since I am calling from my Nextiva service. The best thing that I started taking advantage of is calling on the airplane. Delta has wifi service and I make calls thru Bria. It is great and I fully recommend giving it a shot. Quality is clear and its been a blessing for me.

cheaper than Vonage and Verizon while the service has been better tenfold I switched from Vonage to Nextiva after two months of hell with Vonage. Calls would drop and their outsourced support was horrible. I'd wait on hold to get help and the phone would disconnect or they would have to call me back. The only benefit of Vonage was that they gave me the free equipment. Fortunately I was able to get out of the contract without paying a termination fee. I got my number that I transfered from Verizon to Vonage over to Nextiva and since I have switched everything over, Nextiva has been perfect. Nextiva: If you have a business, stay away I chose Nextiva after seeing the reviews on this site. However, I must say I am extremely disappointed. If I were a residential customer with one line, it would be fine. But I run a business with several lines. I have had a series of problems with porting the numbers. Nextiva advised me of the porting and gave a 3 hour window, which was good. So I tried to set up the number to forward to another line immediately so we wouldn't lose calls. We lost calls. I called customer support, who then walked me through a bunch of steps "cycle" the phone, which apparently needed done in the first place. That was fine. I then prepared for the next numbers to port, only to find out 4 days after they ported that they already ported. Luckily, these numbers were rarely used, however we found out that they ported when a customer informed us that a "robot" answered the phone. Embarrasing. After about 2 months of using them, I still have a number that won't port. I can't get ahold of anyone to fix this. I've left messages and e-mailed. Now, I am calling them and THEIR phones aren't working...not a good sign for a communications company. Also, their web interface is not user-friendly and is not logical.Bottom line, if you have one phone at your house, they're probably ok. If you have a business, stay away.

Extremely Pleased with Nextiva's InTalk I have been using Nextiva's InTalk service for a couple of months, and I could not be more pleased. As a frequent international caller, I had been using another provider that now offers "free calling" to a number of countries. The problem with the other provider was that many calls did not go through, I had frequent dropped calls, and voice quality was inconsistent. I tried InTalk based on the recommendations on this site, and what a difference! Now, my calls always go through, voice quality and volume are quality excellent, I have not had any dropped calls. Sign-up was easy and Nextiva ported my number without a hitch. Also, I was particularly pleaed with the technical support person with whom I spoke. I have had it for two months and it has never worked I bought Nextiva because of the good reviews I read on this site, but I have had it for two months and it has never worked. The agents are friendly but force me to spend hours on hold while they do some bogus "work" on the system. They tell me as soon as I recycle the equip., I will have brilliant phone service. I have done this more than 3x. Yes, I have spent more than 3 hours on the phone with them (what phone?). I now believe that they have no interest in residential customers. They take money and when I asked for cancelation and refund, I was told to call back in two hours (another tactic--delay, delay, delay). Nextiva for resdential customers means using up cell-phone minutes on them (which I had reduced because I thought I had a home phone, which after 3 months, I still do not have).

My Nextiva Voip Review Overall I have been very pleased with nextiva, hence me writing a testimonial. We use dsl for internet connection and switched to voip when we moved offices. Instead of taking our service with frontier business to the new location, we signed up for nextiva and had them port our numbers. We are going into our third month using nextiva and can say that it is an upgrade from what we were using before. Frontier was charging us an additional $25 each month for long distance. The sound quality is very good and using the using the online account manager to change extensions and information is easy and an upgrade compared to what we were dealing with when we used frontier. It would have been great if the porting of our numbers completed earlier, the process took us a bit less than two weeks. I've calculated that we will save $2100 in our first year. The line and long distance savings are big. We are saving good money on toll free minutes too. I recommend nextiva for small business.

Customer Service with InTalk is second to none..something that I have not always found. This is one of three voip providers I am using and definitely will stay with InTalk. NEXTIVA RULES!!!!! Hi, we have had Nextiva service for over a week now and we are thrilled at what great service they offer. Customer service is tops, you get on the phone call their toll free number and you talk to an agent right away. I was able to set up an account in less than 10 minutes. The user portal was very instructive and withing 30 minutes, our softphones were up and running. Lines are crisp and clear!!! Better than phone quality. We have been doing business with other VOIP providers and it is nothing close to what they have. We even tried sk**e (good luck with their customer service!!!)Had i known about them 8 months ago, when we started our business, my estimated savings would've been more than $5,000!!!! and this is just for the 15 lines that we have. More lines, more savings. Thank you nextiva.

Get On My Bandwagon!!! I decided about a year ago that I wanted to embrace the latest technology and look into VOIP for my business needs. I looked at all the most popular providers available, and decided on a solution. Boy, did I make a mistake. The provider I went with was very expensive, and the service was less than adequate. It constantly was down, and they kept blaming the upstream carrier and downstream carrier. It was never their fault. All I wanted was a reliable phone system. I gave this provider more than one chance to redeem itself because I did not want to go to the trouble of training my staff on a new phone system. The initial set up and training was painful. However, after being down time and again I had no choice. Nextiva to the rescue!!! When it was time to switch providers I did not want to make a mistake a second time. I did my due dilligence on the best providers out there. From the initial consultation to implementation, I knew I made the right decision. My sales rep (Todd) was on top of everything I needed and felt my pain and anxiety changing services. My biggest fear was the day we went to do the conversion. I was expecting a huge process and issues that I was going to have to deal with. To my surprise, it was smooth and easy. Nextiva held our hands through the entire process. We were up and running in no time. It was absolutely unbelievable!!!! Furthermore, since we have been up and running, we have not lost 1 call. It's not normally like me to post user reviews but I wanted to get the word out that if you need a VOIP solution, Nextiva is THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I have reccommended Nextiva to anyone who needs a good system. When phone service is your #1 source of doing business, you need a service/partner you can trust. My trust is with Nextiva.

Gateview using Nextiva Service has been great. I had a very frustrating experience with atandt and the main thing I was looking for when switching phone companies is customer service. I couldn't stand sitting on hold for 20 minutes and when it became my turn, my call would get transferred to two other departments. I dont have this happen with nextiva and thats one of the many reasons why I continue to recommend them. It did take some time to get accustom to the user interface, but overall I would say it's logical and versatile. I paid a contract termination fee to leave atandt and the risk paid off. The auto attendant is a feature I used at the beginning but have since stopped using, mainly because I have a secretary answering the phones during the day. At nights we use our after hours voicemail system, and its convenient that nextiva sends us emails each time we get a new one. The support people have been courteous and patient. The product is good and as someone that is not technically inclined, its good using them.

nextiva good phone company was tired of land line phone that was to expensive. had att regular plan no long distance it was supposed to be 26 per month but after tax and usb it came up to close to 30 per month so decided to cancel and don't regret now i am paying about 22 per month for local and long distance. the service is good few detail but nobody is perfect. so if you looking to change to voip this is a good start the only head up is if you port ur number it takes about 10 days and if previous number is tied to internet u will experience a disconnection for about another 10 days after disconnected. the service is missing some features such as fax and cheaper long distance rete, but l since it is a business company its different. it would be really good company if it had a service dedicated for residential more features and lower rates for long distance. over all i recommend had not had major problems.

Great Company and Excellent Customer Service I have had this service for the last two months and I love the voice quality and their customer service. One thing I should mention is that their sales process is completely hassle free and their sales actually helped me customize solution to meet my needs. During the last two months, I had the opportunity to call their customer service department. Believe me, the representative spent one whole hour patiently fixing the problem that was actually caused on my end. If you are looking to replace your traditional phone line or replace your voice over ip service provider, try them; you won't regret it. I am writing this detailed review because that is how I myself came to learn about them, and I want to give back to this community.

Extremely Impressed and Happy Nextiva Customer I am an Executive Assistant for a Fortune 500. My husband and I recently decided to relocate closer to family, and as a result, I am moving to a home-based office setting where I will continue supporting top executives, their teams, and clients. My husband, who is in IT, offered to help me find a great phone solution for my new home office. He decided to go with Nextiva, and I'm so thankful he did. I had consulted other colleagues who are set up with home offices. Many of them use Vonage for VOIP or simply have a land line and none of them are happy with their setups and try instead to make the best of it. Me. I'm thrilled with Nextiva. My setup is professional and the quality is fantastic. My boss was very impressed with the sound quality when he called me from Guatemala. Also, the service Nextiva offers is top notch. They are highly responsive and professional. Their tech support was knowledgeable about the hardware we purchased and within just a couple hours of signing up, I had received an email thanking me for my business and offering to help in any way possible. As an Executive Assistant, I spend a good amount of time on the phone. I make a lot of international calls, run conference calls, and transfer executives to one another. The features are perfect for me. If I need to run out on an errand, I can forward my calls to my cell, so I'm always available, which is critical for the executives I support. If I miss a forwarded call, I get an email on my smart phone with a wav file so I can respond right away, wherever I am. I also feel good about the fact that I'm not submitting a high invoice each month to my company. It's a good, fiscally responsibly choice. All in all, I'm blown away by the features, the quality, and especially the service. What could have been a very scary and stressful transition from a corporate office environment to a home office has instead been a wonderful experience for me and those I support. I would strongly recommend Nextiva as a professional business solution, particularly to home-based users.

The Good:

Ease of Use. Easy to set up all features. Very good customer service. Calls to land lines are crystal clear. Don't take us for granted.

The Bad:

Some calls to cell phones have slightly lower sound quality but this may be due to mobile vendor and not the fault of Nextiva. Hard to know. But when dealing with landlines, the sound quality is always 5 out of 5. And for most calls to mobile phones, its 5 out of 5 but not 100% of the time. But this may have nothing to do with Nextiva.

Very Satisfied with Nextiva/InTalk Service after bad experience with Vonage I run a small business with my girlfriend grooming cats and dogs and we decided to try VOIP to save money. I gave Vonage months to fix my phone call quality and they never succeeded. They finally told me after 8 months that my internet line was not fast enough. Why didn't they tell me this from day one? Nextiva has given me great sound quality from day one and the its very easy to administer my service online. I was going to give up on VOIP but Nextiva showed me the technology was ready and can work as well as a land line. We're very happy to be saving money and we feel like Nextiva is willing to work hard for our business while Vonage reminds me of the old monopolies like AT and T and the cable companies who don't realize they need to step up their game in this competitive environment. Nextiva/InTalk takes every occasion to make sure we are satisfied which tells us they are hungry for our business and don't take us for granted.

The area where we have saved the most money has been in international calls. The charges per minute for calls to Europe are low, maybe the lowest around. I have heave usage to Sweden, Germany, Greece and Italy. Nearly every number I call is a penny a minute. Incoming toll-free charges at 3.5 cents is also very competitive. I joined because of whats out there on them and I havent been disappointed. Their business offering is terrific and I have not experienced any gotchas. My post sales experiences has been better than pre sales. No disrespect intended to the sale guy - he gave me an accurate quote.

Nextiva: fast setup Porting our numbers completed this week. Before the porting was completed we got the service setup and I highly recommend this. Nextiva gave us temporary numbers and got our phones provisioned the same day we signed up. After getting the service working we sent them our porting paperwork and had Cox forward our numbers to the phone numbers Nextiva gave us. It took me an hour to get 11 employees and the phones setup with the service....that's with the help from their support. This is the first time I've ever used a system like this. The customer service has been fast and everything is working the way it should thanks to their setup department. Make sure to use the call logs for tracking. I've started using them to track our inbound and outbound activity and its already proving to be beneficial.

Service experience As others have pointed out on this forum, switching to nextiva solely for fax is not the best idea. If there was a features category, I'd say for the most part everything is good and I like it. But a fax line is lacking and I can't use my fax machine with them. Taking the fax out of this topic, nextiva is a wonderful provider. The price is good and they offer everything I need. Based on what I've seen I started off expecting great service and received it. Voicemails are sent to my iPhone and I can listen to them without calling my number. Not too sure if there is a better deal out there right now.

Much cheaper than regular land line with lots more features. Eager for your business unlike huge old monopolies like ATT.

The Bad:

Need to have cell phone as back up. If power goes out, your phone service is gone. This is applicable to any VOIP service. But everyone has a cell phone these days so its not a big issue. Power outages are relatively rare in our country. But you need to have back up plan in place if you power does got out so you can conduct business. Maybe put cell phone on cards as secondary number.

Nextiva: Quality Sound Sound quality is great. So far we're very happy. I gave Vonage months to fix my phone call quality and they never succeeded. They finally told me after 8 months that my internet line was not fast enough. Why didn't they tell me this from day one? Plus you have to pay for the router and another fee if you cancel before two years is up with Vonage. I don't remember being told that. (Be sure to cancel within the first month with Vonage; if they don't fix your sound quality or they will tack on those fees.) Nextiva has given me great sound quality from day one and the its very easy to administer my service online. I was going to give up on VOIP but Nextiva demonstrates the technology was ready and can work as well as a land line.

fair pricing. using nextiva phone service for a few months Just having a bill that does not fluctuate is a good feeling. Verizon would give me a bill that changed every month for the worse and I got fed up. I quickly jumped to using Vonage for business after leaving Verizon. Based on what I saw and the feedback I got, you'd figure it's a good switch. Vonage was far better than Verizon when it came to billing and I can't complain about the pricing one bit. Voip has easily saved me $150 each month. The reason I left Vonage was the service. By service I don't mean the call quality because for the majority of the calls I've made they sound clear. I left Vonage because of the customer service. My negative feedback on Vonage should be reserved for a review on them but for the price they are average and a decent play. Nextiva on the other hand has been perfect from the get-go. Customer service has been ideal with Nextiva. Calls I've made with Nextiva are also clear and no problems technically. My wife and I are the only two people that use the phones at our office. The response time has always been prompt and of help. The people are very nice and in arizona. I've recommended them to other businesses I deal with.

Nextiva Is Great!! The service setup went smoothly. The phone connection has been working great and reliably. The sound is clear. I have accessed the web site a few times to check call history. Really excellent. We are very pleased. The reason I selected Nextiva is because of their 5 star reputation, and the poor track record of other providers. I called Nextiva with one question since I had never set up this type of system before. I was speaking to a rep quickly, and he answered my question in a helpful, courteous manner.

Nextiva Review - Awesome I am an independent financial advisor with my office inside someone else's office. I used their phone system and my clients called my number that I forwarded to this office. My clients heard the greeting and directory of someone else's office. I started researching VOIP's and made a decision that I was going to go that route. I wanted to have a service that made me look like a company not just a person answering a phone. I tried first a residential type service that worked nicely but did not have an answering attendant or any business feel. I then tried Toktumi, worked fine but did not have music on hold and I could not use the softphone it bought from Counterpath. Also, they did not have caller id (i thought that was pretty basic) I then said, fine, I will pay more money to get the best, Vocalocity. I had issues with their service, even though they had all the features I wanted - music on hold, a calling attendant - the true business feel. Their service was not the best, they seemed to blame all my issues on the network! I did not like the price and that calls were being dropped. I looked again and I found - Nextiva. Nextiva is by far the best one so far and the price is what I paid for the first service, the residential one. The service is great, music on hold, calling attendant, I made awesome recordings. I am excited about all the features that it offers. I download my call logs in excel. It is an amazing difference from what I had before! After going through 4 phone ports and 4 services, Nextiva is the best! It was a lot of work but it is for sure worth it!

NEXTIVA Nextiva was easy to install. My contact person to get me started was kind and probably a good resource to have but I didn't need instructions to get started and I would assume most tech minded people would feel the same way. With the packaging docs and support people it can't be much of a challenge to get it going. The control panel can use a face lift but my biggest concern is that features work and I have not experienced difficulties. There are cheaper options in VoIP but with the current pricing Nextiva is a great service and value. Reliability gets 5 stars, not one choppy, poor or ended call has happened. I've primarily used Nextiva for business calls via a counterpath soft phone and occasionally with my Linksys phone. The 30 day trial period was a boost in getting me to go with Nextiva and can be useful for others that have never used VoIP in the past. Run a speed test before switching.

Nextiva A+ No brainer to use them. Coming from Comcast where I was paying them $230 every month to nextiva where I now pay $90. This was my first experience with VOIP and the experience has been superb. This service is the alternative for business. It literally took me 15 minutes start to finish. I setup our 3 phones and the transfer to them was super easy. Lots of people have written lengthy reviews on why they like nextiva and I agree with all of them. I have called the nextiva support a few times. The reps were friendly and knowledgeable. The porting process took 2.5 weeks and was painless. I have never written a review and that itself tells you how I feel about the nextiva system. It was a pain writing this review though. Why in the world do they make it so difficult to post one of these on this site?? I spent more time on this than getting the system setup. lol Not having to pay a frightening phone bill every month where comcast keeps sticking new fees is probably the best part. A+

Nextiva: beat my expectations The sales associate that helped us, Todd was nice and understood the service he was selling me. Of course this is my opinion of Nextiva and what I've seen from this company makes me VERY happy to be a user. The level of service after sales is something I haven't experienced in a while. Most vendors I deal with don't care for their customers........they just sell the product and move on to the next customer. I have been greatly surprised by the amount of support. My two emails I sent this week were responded to quickly and with a good answer. Not just an annoying template. The custom auto attendant is a winner. First, they recorded it for us. Second, I've had customers compliment me on it!! Before the auto attendant we were probably spending half of our days transferring calls from one phone to another. Establishing the layout of our service and what we wanted to achieve was not difficult. I figured there was going to be a manual I had to read - not the case. No need to have a tech/IT background in order to set up. One thing I would say to make sure you have is a good internet connection that's reliable. I had 6 lines and a t1 when we first got things going. Because we expanded our sales line we needed more phones and therefore a better internet connection. Although in our first phase we added 4 employees, I got another t1 and do have plans to continue this expansion of our sales floor. They have undoubtedly beaten my expectations. When I think I save money I get worried, just because I always have the feeling something bad will happen with a company that has cheap prices. Nextiva deserves a thank you from me. Actual people answer their phones and it's not outside the country. I also need to talk about the person that welcomed me when I joined. His name slips my mind right now but a person from Nextiva called and thanked me for signing up!!!!!???? That was amazing and unexpected. If I could give the service 10 stars I would.

Exactly what we needed. Happy with the switch. Nextiva was exactly what we needed. We used Vonage for our phone service and when we went from needing just one phone to 4 I started looking at pbx companies. My quotes and research led me to go with Nextiva. Most companies I was looking at seemed similar on paper. We knew that if we were to switch phone companies it had to be during our slow season because I was not too comfortable with the idea of switching our phone service in the heart of busy season. I started researching a month or so before we actually switched and did not want to have one of those horror stories that I read about on sites like this. Nextiva seemed to be the best from what I read on the web and coincidentally one of my suppliers also uses them. Vonage was not bad for what I was getting and I still use them at my house. The porting transition from Vonage has been good and my number transferred yesterday and everything works fine. We are yet to setup all the features but have the basics down for now. I have music on hold, a greeting when people call in and my number works. Because we added three more numbers our main 303 number stayed the same and we got three other 303's from Nextiva. I got Polycom 330 phones to use with them and all of us have the same phones. The phones look ok but I like how we all have the same phone rather than a bunch of different cordless handsets. The phones came to us in two days after ordering the service and were ready to go from the start. Our phone usage is limited right now but as things get busy being able to dial each other from an extension is what I get and expect for my business. The support being in the US instead of overseas with vonage is something I like and is nice but wasn't a reason I'd leave Vonage. I firmly believe in not changing something if it ain't broke. Vonage worked fine but couldn't do what we were looking for and Nextiva can. I'm very pleased and can see myself recommending them to others I know. The MountainCo

Nextiva, back to reality...a real review. We were looking for a good alternative to the standard phone company and the outrageous bills we were getting every month. I did alot of research, and by the very reviews on this website I decided to go with Nextiva. Ordered the phones and the service, received them promptly and got good help getting it set up. Numbers were ported over correctly, and everything seemed to work fine. We had some call quality issues in the beginning (calls cutting in and out), after a few (it never takes just one) calls to support, someone dialed in to our router and changed some settings and got it fixed. We've been with Nextiva for probably close to 6-7 months now. The first few months were pretty good, as far as reliability. However, it has progressively gotten worse. About a month ago, we had ZERO phone service for about 2-3 hours one morning. In fact, Nextiva's own 800 number was out of service....so, we were there with no phones, and no way to even contact Nextiva to tell them our phones were out. Eventually they came back to life, but for those 3 hours it was a total nightmare. Since then, they have been "okay". A few dropped calls, nothing major. I could deal with a dropped call or two over a month, when i'm saving close to $175 per month. However, lately, it has become unbearable. About 3 days ago, we had a total outage again...no phones period, no outgoing or incoming calls. Again, Nextiva's phone number was out of order, no way to notify Nextiva. They eventually came back up, but now, we're having some serious problems we haven't had before. Randomly, when a customer calls...we cannot hear them at all, but they can hear us. So, we answer...nothing..silence. So, we have to immediately call them back or hope when they call again, that it works. I had a customer call yesterday, THREE TIMES, before we were able to get a good phone connection. I used to recommend Nextiva to all of my colleagues...now, I tell them all to stay away. When it works, its phenomenal (Saving A LOT of money, gained alot of cool features, etc.)...but when it doesn't work...its a nightmare (which is becoming more and more often). Support just kinda takes guesses at what the problem is...emails are unreturned for days. Everytime you call support, you talk to a 20 year-old something, who sounds completely ticked off about their job. I've never once gotten a, "I'm very sorry you are receiving this problem." It's always, "Well....I guess it could be your router." or something similar. Not to mention billing has messed up my renewal amount MULTIPLE times (charging me extra). They always fix it without a problem, but it always requires an email to tell them "You have messed up my billing....AGAIN". If they had better support staff, and a more reliable platform, it would be an excellent excellent company. However, the old adage always seems to ring true..."You get what you pay for." I elected to save over $175 per month for phone service...and now, i'm "paying" for it.

kdm using nextiva The porting of our numbers was handled once we provided them with the paperwork. Shortly before we were told our numbers were going to transfer we went into their control panel and setup the service. We use eyebeam when outside of the office and adapters with uniden phones when we're in. Price was the reason we chose nextiva but the overall service has been great.
