TelTub Review: Quick and professional Had a conversation with customer service in trying to set it up for the first time.Quick and professional! I am a new customer, using the ghome services. so far the quality seems great!!

The Good:

cheap (in fact very cheap), online voicemail and automatic transcription, really reliable as an actual phone (I have been using it since late December), online troubleshooting, voip adapter status indicator, domestic and international (canada) unlimited calls, a good unlocked voip adapter, since it's google voice you can answer your calls on your cell if you are away form home. I like their facebook interface that you can use to view the list of your calls (I am not using it regularly but it's really cool).

The Bad:

I am using it for my small business so I like to be able to define extensions, greetings, etc. I also would like to be able to have multiple voip adapters (they don't allow you to connect multiple adapters at the same time), might be a bit confusing to configure for non-technical people (not really an issue for me) [I recommend that you get the adapter from them. Don't try to configure one yourself if you don't know what you doing]

The most affordable home phone with many features (from Google Voice) The service works great (without even considering the low price which is a bonus). It's easy to register and they allow you to bring your adapter BUT DON'T. Only do it if you know how to configure a SIP ATA. They will give you the username/password to configure your adapter but there are other settings that they don't mention like nat settings etc. So, if you don't know what you are doing just buy the thing from them. It's not worth saving $20 to configure it yourself.I have tried multiple adapters like the Linksys PAP2 and even my Asterisk box. It works with all of them given you know how to set it up. However, I decided to try their own adapter too just because!!! It's a Grandstream HT 286 box (but one of my friend got a Linksys 1001 so I guess they work with different vendors). It was $50 to get it from them which is not far from eBay. (You can probably get one from eBay for 25-30 but you have to know what you are doing andlt;- not recommended). The voice quality is very good and I have never had a disconnection. They also have an indicator (a gray/green light) on their website that shows if your device is online.Google transcribe your voicemails and set it to your email. This is pretty good as you are able to read your voicemails (as oppose to listening to them). Their features beat the hell out of vonage or phone.com(well to be fair they are using Google's features. Vonage and other guys can't compete with Google in their dreams).

The Bad:

right now nothing. I started as a beta user and it was shaky back then (read my comment), they need to have a support forum

it's really REALY cool I subscribed when the service was advertised on Google Voice forum a few month ago. Back then they had a promotion to give $5 for 6 months (and I still have that). After they opened the service they removed that promotion and added the one month free. With this rate they may remove this one too :)Anyhow, the beta service was o.k. but the voice quality was not good for some calls. Also some calls could not go through. The problems were all gone around december(ish). Right now, all calls are great with fantabulous voice quality.I have received an email some days ago that if I purchase $60 credit (1 year service) they will send me a free adapter (not sure if they offer this promotion to everybody because it's not on their website). I bought the credit and two days later I got the adapter. It's a small grandstream box and is not locked (yes, I checked).the 911 issue that some reviews arereferringto is true but is not really bothering me since I am using my cell phone for that.I haven't really used their support so I am not sure how they do it. I rated it 5 star because based on everything else they do, their support should be o.k. too. It's hard to imagine that they suck at support when everything else is good.

TelTub Review: recommended. I heard about these guys on computer america radio show. It seems to be one of those silicon valley companies based on the show and their website. The voice quality is great for voip and their customer service is fast. As a couple of other reviewers mentioned, their customer service gets back to you really quickly. I sent them an email to ask about my current adapter and if it works with their service, they responded within 10-15 minutes.I do recommend to get the adapter pre-configured from them (I didn't do that for myself and I had some trouble with the settings). I got my sister to get ghome too but I ordered the pre-configured adapter for her. They sent it from Boston and she received it in 2 days. We plugged it in and it just worked. I do use my Google contacts regularly and they allow to import your google's contacts into their service.recommended.

The Good:

Easy to setup. Support is QUICK and HELPFUL. Works with Google Voice! Great sound quality. Good for kids phone. Tell your land-line company to suck it!

The Bad:

You have to wait for the device to be delivered! That's the only downside I can think of!

TelTub Review: unlimited domestic and canada, easy setup I signed up, entered my google username and password, click on purchase the adapter and 4 days later I get the adapter. I played with the setup a little bit before I get the adapter so when I connected the adapter it didn't work. I emailed them and I got a response in about 30 minutes. They asked a couple of questions and told me to connect to the adapter through my browser. I could fix it and it started working.I've taken the adapter with me on a vacation and I connected it to my hotel's internet. It works great. cool stuff. well worth the 5 bucks. Recommended.

Re: TelTub registered recently and I decided to use my own adapter that I bought for another voice over ip service a while back.I had some difficulties setting it. It was not easy to find how to contact their support but I finally found it. For whoever is having the same problem, it's support@teltub.com.I emailed them and I got a response back within 2 hours. After a couple of emails I asked the guy to call me back to help me and he did. The guy's name was Mark and he was REALLY helpful. He knew all about my adapter and even my previous service provider from head to toe. We got the adapter to work in no time. I am using their free one month trial and it's really good. strongly recommended.

Re: TelTub gHome I read about gHome on tmc's blog (http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/voip/teltub-google-voice-5-unlimited-calling-to-us-canada.asp). It wasn't that easy to configure but it was ok. The voice quality is fairly good. Their support is through email only but I've never needed anything so I am not sure how it works. The price is a true plus considering you get Google Voice's interface for your home phone.

The Good:

very Low Cost - $5 a month Unlimited minutes can use your own device or use telTub's 1st month free - no credit card

The Bad:

I can't really think of any at all. No voice support, but email support was really fast, accurate and helpful. I don't see a way to erase or turn off my dashboard call history section on their web site

TelTub Review: For $5 a month you cannot go wrong I bought a ATA box on ebay for $21 and was able to follow TelTub's configuration instructions - only a few settings. You also need a Google Voice Number.Plugged it in, make a few settings - - and it works.Been using it pretty heavy for about weeks - - very nice, no issues at all.I don't use voice mail so i did not test itFor $5 a month you cannot go wrong - - try it for free

TelTub Review: Altogether, a good service for the price They registered a phone number in my Google Voice account and the setup was rather easy. I bought the adapter from them but I guess it is possible to use yours if you know what you are doing (haven't tried). The sound quality is very similar to Vonage or other VoIP services. You'd know it's VoIP and not a regular phone line. Also, they don't have 9-1-1 which is a minus.Altogether, it's a good service for the price.
